The parish council is the burial authority for the cemetery at Buckland Monachorum which is located immediately opposite St Andrews School. The churchyard around St Andrews Church is a closed churchyard but the parish council do have responsibility for the maintenance of the lawn, hedges, and trees.

RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE CEMETERY
- The Parish Council has statutory responsibility for administration and maintenance of the Cemetery and for interments.
- The Clerk to the Council can be contacted on telephone number 01822 841648 and will advise on any matters concerning the Cemetery.
- A Grant for the Exclusive Right of Burial can be purchased from the Clerk. The allocation of any grave space is made by the Parish Council in accordance with a general plan for the Cemetery. All new grave plots are dug to double depth.
- No funerals are allowed on Sundays, Good Friday, Christmas Day or other public holidays without special permission of the Parish Council. Permission can be granted by the Chairman or in their absence by two members of the Parish Council.
- Burial plots for cremated ashes are available in a section of the cemetery and in the Memorial Meadow behind the church. Permission for the scattering of ashes will be made at the discretion of the Parish Council.
- A Grant for the Exclusive Right to Erect a Memorial Stone can be purchased from the Clerk. The fee will include a sum for the safety maintenance of the memorial, which will be carried out by the Parish Council. If the memorial becomes unsafe and cannot be repaired at a reasonable cost then the Parish Council reserves the right to lay down or remove the memorial.
- Mounded graves, kerbstones, surrounds, fixed vases or memorial stones at ground level are not permitted. Headstones will face over the grave plot of the interned.
- The Parish Council operates a Registration Scheme for Memorial Masons. Memorial Masons not registered with the Scheme will not be allowed to work in the Cemetery.

- The Parish Council has the authority to remove any unauthorised memorials and recover the cost from the person upon whose order the memorial was placed. (Article 14, the Local Authorities Cemeteries Order 1977).
- Dogs are not allowed in the Cemetery. Cycling and Skateboarding is not permitted.

A Parish Resident shall be defined as a person who satisfies one or more of the following criteria at the time of purchase of a plot or death.
- A person who is or was, until the time of death, living continuously in the Parish, or who was living continuously in the Parish up to 12 months previous to the purchase of a plot.
- A person who was living continuously in the Parish, but who left to take up residence in another location for the purposes of being cared for.
- A second interment in a plot where the person is the spouse, partner or sibling of a resident already interred in the plot.
